The Downloadhelper icon does not appear.

Hello,
I have been using Mozilla Firefox for quite some time and I had installed Downloadhelper. It was working very well, but for some time now the icon that is supposed to spin when the software detects a file has disappeared.
When I click on Options of Downloadhelper ( Tools > Add-ons > Extensions > Downloadhelper (4.0) > Options ), the "Add-ons" window doesn't respond at all, and no other options window appears.
I checked if I could make the icon reappear with the toolbar, but it is not there.
I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.0.5, Downloadhelper 4.0.

Thanks in advance =)
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.5

I had the same problem as you, and it was resolved very simply! Here’s how to do it:
- Make sure Downloadhelper is properly installed
- On a webpage with Firefox, go to View > Toolbars > Customize.
- Scroll down in the window that appears until you find the Downloadhelper icon.
- Drag the icon to the Firefox toolbar with your mouse.

And there you go! Everything should be sorted out.
Apparently, it's common for the icon to disappear during an update of the add-on or Firefox itself.
If this technique doesn't work, then I don't know where the problem comes from.

The problem is that the icon is not in the customize menu.. it is nowhere to be found.
But I don’t think the problem comes from there, because when I go to add-ons > extensions > Download helper > options, the options window does not appear and the add-ons window is unresponsive.
Now I will see if this issue can be resolved by going into Firefox's advanced options (using the page about:config), by setting the same values as someone whose setup works.
I will keep you updated.

Thanks anyway =)

I followed exactly what you indicated and my problem (which seemed to be the same as for the others) was resolved... Thank you :)
