“XOXO” is an expression used to signify affection or good friendship at the end of a letter or email.
The most common interpretation assumes that X represents the four arms of a hug and that O represents the lips of a kiss. However, the Oxford English Dictionary contradicts this proposition and states that X “is used to represent a kiss, especially in a letter.”
