Hello,

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with Vista Premium. Suddenly, the taskbar and menu got stuck. The only way to restore them is to stop and then restart the explorer.exe process from the Task Scheduler, which only has a temporary effect! Additionally, the explorer.exe process is consuming 50% of my CPU usage (while it drops to 0-1% when no applications are launched).
After several virus scans and fixes, the Windows taskbar is working again (for now) but explorer.exe is still using 50% of the CPU! Do you know a way to fix this?
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Good evening amoa,

Thank you for the little read. I did what I found on generation-nt, but the dissociation of the display process doesn’t change anything...
