Explorer.exe + drwtsn32.exe has encountered a problem

Solved

Hello,
I have a big problem that has been going on for almost a year and I can't seem to solve it!
When I go into a folder that contains videos, a few seconds later the window "explorer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" pops up.
Moreover, if I don't quickly click "don't send," I get another window of the same kind that completely freezes my computer and I have to turn it off: "drwtsn32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..."

It's really very annoying because I can't access my videos.
I have already performed a lot of virus scans with Avast, then Panda, etc...
But I didn't find anything..

Thank you for your help
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0

Before pressing anything (don't send etc...) do ctrl alt del
process and close explorer.exe
press don't send (explorer.exe)
and in the task manager create a new task then "explorer.exe"
and normally it's good!

if it's not clear let me know!

I started doing what is advised on this link https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-1449551-drwtsn32-exe-win-xp-sp2-une-solution

But the problem is: I didn't pay attention to the codecs I deleted (about 30...) ..

Have you checked if there is a virus?

ah it's a shame for me it had resolved my problem sorry
try going through the explorer (windows + e)
or right-clicking on the folder then open or explore
test

Hi,
Your file needs to be in C:/Windows/, otherwise your shortcut won't work!

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, Explorer crashes
when you get the drwstn error message (Dr. Watson)
you also need to close this process with ctrl+alt+del, and Explorer restarts, no need to reboot the computer,

the solution to this problem seems to have not been found yet (I’ve tested several tutorials on this subject but with no results), it still bugs, you can reformat but well, that’s the easy way out.

It's true that the problem is when Explorer crashes!
When you close it with the task manager
nothing else appears on the screen, not even the files!
And you have to restart!

PS: Avoid that!

but no, once the process is closed, you need to do file-new task,
you type explorer.exe then execute and everything goes back to normal,

turning off a computer constantly is much worse than restarting the processes...

But by stopping Explorer and restarting it, there’s still the same problem: I can't access my folders that contain videos
and anyway, if I wait a bit to close Explorer or to end the task... drwtsn... shows up and I can't do anything at all except turn off or put to sleep or restart..

look at my first post, there’s no point in rebooting everything (it's wasting time and eventually messing up the OS)
I repeat:
when you get a drwstn error message,
you do the same as explorer.exe except you don’t need to restart it
meaning ctrl/alt/delete you close the process (drwstn.32...) and explorer restarts automatically

I know it’s annoying, but there’s no solution to this problem...

Hello
What if I delete the 3 drwtsn files that I find after a search?

One is an application (that's the problem, right?), the other is a compiled html file and the third is a help file, respectively in the folders: C:\windows\system32, C:\windows\Help, and C:\windows\Help.

Another file is named: DRWTSN32.EXE-01DDCF15.pf and is located in C:\windows\Prefetch, it's a pf file.

Thank you.
