Freecom xxs external hard drive not detected

Hello,

I recently purchased a Freecom xxs 320GB external hard drive.

When I connect it to my laptop (Windows XP SP2), it is detected properly.
However, when I connect it to the desktop PC (also Windows XP SP2), it is not detected. It doesn't appear in My Computer or Disk Management.

At first, I thought it was a USB problem. The PC had USB 1. I just added a PCI USB 2 card to the PC, but the drive is still not detected.

I'm not sure what to do next.

Here is the diagnostic of my PC

Thank you for your responses

Hi, it might be a bit late, but if someone comes across this like I did; I have a solution: use the supplied cable because the mini-connector on the HDD side is longer than the usual plugs we have.

I confirm that after trying everything for several days with 2 Freecoms having offset write, disappearing directories, and random access in DOS, I finally used the correct connector (I have one for a GPS) and everything is back to normal. Thank you for this idea: having the Freecom cable or a similar one.
