Hello,
I just got a DDstorex mpix 358hd and I have a big problem. I managed to put movies, music, photos on it...
but when I connect it to my TV, a Storex page appears, saying "no files found" and I can’t get anything else. It’s quite annoying... if anyone has an answer to my problem, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Configuration: Mac OS X Safari 525.20.1

I also have this hard drive and for me there are no issues at that level. My problem is that when I connect my hard drive via HDMI there is no image while there is one when I connect it via SCART. Have you managed to connect it via HDMI?
Sorry for not being able to help and thank you.

I also have this hard drive and I'm facing the same problem. When I connect my HDD via HDMI, there's no image, while there is one when I connect it with VGA cables. I went back to the customer service today, a technician connected it to his screen and it worked right away. Back home, still the same problem. (The technician didn't make any adjustments to the external HDD, the problem must be coming from the TV. I have a SAMSUNG that is 1 year old)

If anyone can guide me towards a solution, thank you in advance.

I called the Storex hotline and they told me that it was due to the television since it's an older model, a year old. They advised me to contact the manufacturer to check for any updates. My television is a Sony Bravia, so I sent an email to Sony while waiting for their responses. Keep me posted if you find the solution.
Thank you.

Good evening,

There's an update regarding the issue. In fact, it's important to know that the storex is incompatible with a large number of LCD and Plasma screens on the market. In my case, I went back to where I bought it and we tested it with several screens. Problematic with the vast majority (and all brand new!!!).

So I exchanged it for a Samsung 750 GB HMI and now it's fine, no more issues.

For more information, visit the storex website --> forum --> mpix 358 HD --> HDMI Incompatibility Mpix 358!!!

http://www.storex.fr/storex/forum2/forum_posts.asp?TID=1000 (Direct access).

A large number of people (3 pages) explain their issues with this drive and are awaiting responses from STOREX.

Have a good evening.

Well thanks Storex!! How were you able to exchange your hard drive? Is it thanks to the after-sales service?
In any case, thank you very much for your answers.

Yes, thanks to the after-sales service (Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back). I explained the problem to them and asked them to test it with a Samsung TV. They didn't hesitate; they issued me a replacement voucher, and then I asked the salespeople to test it on several Samsung TVs with the SAMSUNG 750 GB HDMI over the weekend. They connected it, and it worked.
Since then, no more issues. Thanks to the BOULANGER team!!!!

For your Storex, you need to adjust the settings on the television and convert it to HDMI, then go into the menu of your Storex player and access setup and settings. There, you will find all the adjustments to set it to HDMI, sound, screen 4/3 + 16/9, etc.....

If you have any issues, you can write to me at claude84@orange.fr

Best regards.

Hello Claude, I also just bought a DD 358. My problem is the remote control; it doesn't work. I've properly inserted the batteries with the correct polarity. For now, I'm using the buttons on the DD. If you could guide me, as I might have forgotten something. Thank you in advance while waiting for your response.

I have exactly the same problem (remote control not working or faulty infrared receiver?)
Have you resolved it since?

I can't copy files larger than 4 GB to my Storex drive
it seems that it's a FAT issue.

Restart your computer in safe mode, in the command prompt type this

convert "drive_name": /fs:ntfs /x

This will convert your disk..

And there you go, you'll be in NTFS ;)

If you already have data on it, what happens?
Changing it to NTFS doesn't prevent multimedia from working, does it?
Thanks for your response in advance.

Hello, I've had a small issue recently with the mpix358hd. I recently added movies to it and organized them into existing folders according to their style. On the computer, there are no issues; I can find the folders. However, as soon as I connect it to my television via HDMI, it shows "source" when I open the "file" section. On the other hand, all the movies are available in the "video" section of the multimedia. I don't understand? Can you help me? Thank you.

For orange mandarin, of course it can be formatted to NTFS, and of course you can copy files larger than 4GB, the MPix-358 HD remains a hard drive at its core.

Problem acknowledged by STOREX, your issue is only in HDMI.
STOREX offers an update on their website.

Hello,

For your HDMI connection issues, you need to go into your TV's menu, set it to HDMI, and confirm by pressing OK, and you'll see it will work on its own.

For the hard drive, if you have nothing, go to the Storex website because it may be that you no longer have the setup menu. When you plug it in for the first time, you need to go into the setup menu to make the adjustments, for example (language, image, HDMI connection, etc.).

If you have any issues whatsoever, I can help you if you want; here is my email at claude84@orange.fr

Best regards.
