USB on PS3
Solved/Closed
Hello,
How can I read the contents (music and images) of a USB stick on a PlayStation 3?
I tried, and the PS3 detects it well but can't play the music or display the images. Is that normal?
Thank you for your responses.

Hello
while searching through the various topics available online:
-You need to create, at the root of the USB drive, the folders (all in uppercase) PICTURE, MUSIC, VIDEO, PS3
and in the PS3 folder,
UPDATE (for OFFLINE system updates)
SAVEDATA (where to put the saves)
EXPORT
in the EXPORT folder,
BACKUP (PS3 restore point)
PSV (PS2 saves)
in my way:
-If your drive is recognized, in Video, or Photo etc... you press Triangle on your drive icon, Show All.
You just have to copy the data to your console to enjoy it (finally the saves, the only ones you can't read on the drive)-

It's super simple, for the umpteenth time: make sure your USB key is formatted in FAT32 (and if it still doesn't work after my explanation, REFORMAT it to FAT32). Then either you do what Eminence said above (create PICTURE files, etc...) or you do what Zali said above, which is much simpler.
You wait a little bit for the images to load below the system files on your USB key (on mine there were trash, etc...), and normally you can view them, edit them, set them as wallpaper…
