Connect two PCs with an RJ11 cable

Hello,
I would like to connect my laptop (Windows Vista) and the desktop PC (Windows XP) with an RJ11 cable via their modem
but how to do it?
so if anyone has a little idea

    In my opinion, it's not possible, unless you want to spend 2 years, or you would need, um, a router with RJ11 ports.

    why not put a crossed RJ45 between your two PCs if you want to have them in a network without a router

      Actually, it’s for the internet, it’s just to communicate between the two PCs.

      Well, my RJ45 port is already in use, it’s connected to my Livebox.

        If you connect your other PC to the Livebox via RJ45, does that solve your problem? Your PCs will be connected to each other.

        Another solution: connect them to each other via USB ports.

          yes but my desktop PC is not connected to my livebox
          that’s why I want to establish a link between the 2 PCs using the RJ11 cable

            okay I don’t quite get why you don’t connect all your PCs to your Livebox (or at least use a Wi-Fi card for your desktop if you can’t pull a cable)

            but you won’t be able to do that using your RJ11 ports, it’s not for nothing that networks are wired in RJ45.

            otherwise use the USB ports to network them with a cable like this:
