Android X86 Installation

Hello
I am desperately trying to install android X86 on an eeepc
I downloaded the image, put it on a USB stick
Upon reboot, I choose to install the system, I format my disk as ntfs (maybe not the right format..)
The installation goes well and at the end I get the message that it is successfully installed.
The problem is that upon restarting the machine, the OS is apparently not found because I get this error message

Error: unknown
file system
entering rescue mode
Grub rescue

Thank you

  1. Well, things are getting weird
Normally, the Android installation worked, but when I restarted the machine, it offers me the option to launch Android or... Windows (which is not on my machine... anyway)
I choose Android, and then a black screen
I can't access the BIOS at startup anymore...
    1. I am not a fortune teller, I haven't seen what was on your disk; if there is only a blank and formatted partition left (and not the Windows partition table), that's not possible.

So it means either the USB drive is faulty, or there is still a Windows partition table and the system obeys: it tries to install a dual boot, and if Android does not start then, it's either that a Secure Boot (I think it's called Boot Booster or something like that on the eeePC) is prohibiting it, or the USB drive is faulty, or for some reason the system allows booting from a CD but not from a USB device.

We can always, even if we have to insist, enter the BIOS by pressing the right key before anything starts, but if "it goes too fast", just disconnect the USB drive and start over.

We will then need to relaunch gparted to check what is on the disk and format everything including the Windows boot partition; some sources say the appropriate format is NTFS, others ext(n), I believe it doesn’t really matter since normally the Android installation sequence formats (then installs Grub).

I would then recreate the USB drive or, if your USB images are not reliable, let's be crazy, I would spend on a new CD to boot the Android ISO from the CD (after ensuring once again that the downloaded version is compatible with eeePC 1000).
