Good evening, remote monitoring = you have a provider who installs a remote monitoring system for you (a control panel, sensors on openings/closures: windows, doors) one or more small boxes like speakers through which the monitoring can be heard at your place. A box to enter your code (unless it is integrated into your control panel). This is the basic setup. When you activate the remote monitoring, automatically either by impulse or by phone communication, your system notifies the control panel that it is under surveillance. If a burglar enters your home, the alarm goes off, notifying them. This control panel then makes itself known and asks the intruder for their identifying code. If the code is correct, all is well. If incorrect: while inviting the "burglar" to leave the premises, the procedure is initiated (alerting the police, etc...) Do you intend to equip yourself with remote monitoring? If so, be careful if you are using the Freebox. This is my case, and I am encountering a problem with my remote monitoring provider. Sincerely, Laura

Yes Laura, the EPS is on alert (that's the case to say)!  For example: you cut off your electrical supply to do some work on your installation and there you go! Phone rings: what's wrong? Your alarm system is no longer powered!?  Well: once a night your system calls their installation to communicate its operational status: a communication lasting a few seconds that costs you one unit = it's not a big deal!

Indeed, to avoid line cut issues, the best option is to have a line monitoring service like "transveil," offered by FT, or the GSM gateway with an included SIM card is another solution. As for the batteries, the "average" standard is usually 48 hours of autonomy, depending on the number of detectors to be powered. Good evening, I am the manager of a remote surveillance company. Indeed, a power outage leads to a break in transmission to the monitoring center. EPS, which activates a security agent's intervention, will still not be able to ascertain the duration of the outage if you are not at home, and will be unable to ensure the reception of alarms coming from your home. As for Securitas Direct, which now offers GSM for each installation, even though the installation fee remains reasonable, the service will only work if there is sufficient network coverage. Moreover, their service can sometimes leave much to be desired due to the large number of connected clients. The only real solution is to equip yourself whenever possible with a connection via a traditional telephone line (PSTN) without total unbundling and to install a GSM backup. This will take over if it detects a failure of the telephone line. The downside is the cost of the device.

I struggled to ensure that my system calls a number starting with 01 and not 08 I have Free. I'm in total unbundling and to this day, I have never encountered any issues, any power cuts whatsoever. You can add a battery to your system that takes over in case of a power cut. It's true that it's worth it if the cut doesn't last long. I thought about it but haven't done it yet.

HELLO Thomas, Hello Toto95, first of all: I have been a customer for several years with the same remote surveillance center and with numbers starting with 01 (because there is not just the diagnostic call, there is also the call every time we enter the code to set the alarm or to "turn off" the alarm. If I hadn't had the detailed invoices from France Telecom, I wouldn't have noticed that one day the numbers had been changed to start with 08. So don’t think of it as just one call per 24 hours but several. My line was switched to FREE with total unbundling. The call numbers are entered into the central unit of the location to be protected (this is done manually by the technician) so at your end. BUT obviously, the remote surveillance center must provide the number of its (or their) line(s). For me, it was very clear. If my remote surveillance center had not agreed to my (justified) request, I would have left them for another center. I hope I have answered your questions. Best regards

1=informations : In fact, it's simple when there is a break-in at your home, all the phone sockets plus your ADSL modem are cut off, which means you have no internet and no landline. I don't fully agree with point 1.  At my place (I am on partial unbundling), I have my alarm connected to my box and my phone line, so if my modem goes down (no power, no sync), the alarm messages can be transmitted through my FT line. Well, now, if the FT line is down too, I am supposed to be called to inform me that there is a problem with the ADSL and the phone line, so a presumed malicious cut. At the same time, a security guard is sent to my place to see what's going on.  To bounce back on "everyone has their job," even though I subscribed to my monitoring subscription on my ISP's portal, it is indeed a monitoring company that protects my home. :)

I work at Securitas Direct as a technician, and if you want remote surveillance, you need to check where you bought it to see if there is remote monitoring management, and if so, whether it works over the France Telecom network or via GSM.  From there, you take the subscription, and as soon as you activate your system, if you have an intruder trying to enter, the remote surveillance will detect an intrusion, and you will be notified first. If you're not at home, the remote surveillance will trigger an alert to the nearest police station to your home. That's what remote monitoring is for, but we do not listen to people with alarm systems because at home, that's your private life.

EPS and others of this type give nothing to the responders... so the best ones refuse... Additionally, I sent a map that is forwarded to the technician who comes over, so there are no problems. I really have no complaints, everything is well organized. I know that where I live, there are about twenty intervention companies that could step in if the one closest to me wasn't available: I find that quite reassuring: what happens if there's only one service provider and they’re not available? Do I just wait for them to be? Each company doesn't have an infinite number of security agents! On the contrary, I think it's an advantage to use a company that works with several intervention companies; without this intermediary, I wouldn't be able to take advantage of such a range of options.

Your house certainly deserves regular risk but not heavy risk... let me explain = heavy risk: the control room is electrically backed up, a minimum of personnel must be present in the control room, wall thickness, emergency telephone connection, etc... in your case, one employee is enough (if he has a heart attack... you'll have to wait) if there is a power outage... you'll have to wait... this explains a very low price... Santa Claus doesn't exist for bankers... they are there to make money, never forget that... this is not an association...  As for the service provider (the company that dispatches), if I understand correctly, you have visually met someone from this company? But which one of the 20? Did they all conduct the risk assessment? I'm talking about a service provider as a company with several employees in our case. Hello,  Regarding the response time, I don't expect the security guard to catch the burglar in the act: most burglaries happen in 3 or 4 minutes, they say. Generally, I imagine that when the security guard arrives, the burglar has already left. What matters to me is that the alarm blares to deter him from staying, and if he does stay (in this case, he is already experienced, which limits the risks), that he doesn't linger. The alarm for me reduces risks, it does not eliminate them. It prevents ransacking, vandalism, and complete relocation. Especially if I am away and far from home, I know that someone will keep an eye on the house until my return if the door has been forced. I don't know how long it would take for the security guard to intervene at my place; they say about 25 minutes on average, and I suppose it’s quicker in the city than in the countryside. If that's the case, that seems reasonable to me. They also mention an average response time of 20 minutes for assistance vehicles, and yet they have priority on the road, which is not the case for the remote surveillance security guards.  I provided a map to my home to ensure that the interventions are as quick as possible, and I’ve been told that it has been communicated to the responding company. Hello, the alarm system I have in my house is directly connected to my mobile phone + 2 other emergency numbers and all this is on full unbundling with Free. (GSM backup option available in case of phone line cut) The most important thing to keep in mind is to be careful to properly "hide" the alarm panel which is the brain of the system and to have an indoor siren not integrated with the panel. However, there is one thing I don't quite understand: in the event of a break-in, when the alarm goes off, the monitoring service will make a call to identify if there hasn't been a false action on my part. Hello everyone,  Personally, I am with EPS.  Indeed, EPS is resold by a lot of companies that have nothing to do with security (Poweo, CIC, Orange, Free...) but it is neither Orange nor Poweo that monitors or intervenes at your home: they are security professionals.  As for the security agent: he is neither a police officer nor some sort of militia or cowboy! It should be understood that their sole role is to ensure that your house has not been burglarized and to inform you of it (through your monitoring center)! They do not seek to intercept burglars in any way.  As mentioned earlier, a burglar will not stay long, especially if an alarm goes off, so unless the security agent is Buzz Lightyear or Superman, he will never (or rarely) be face to face with the burglar!  I think it's important to understand that the purpose of the alarm is to limit the duration of the burglar's visit and to notify you in case of problems with your house.  Moreover, the meaning of surveillance takes on a broad sense: fire surveillance, flooding, freezing of plumbing, defrosting of the freezer...  Also, to monitor my house, I believe that EPS is just as competent as the others!  Regarding the discussions about unbundling, telephone lines or otherwise... I believe that in the age of GSM, it is no longer feasible to do without them! Whether it's ADSL or PSTN, a somewhat clever burglar will cut the telephone line in the middle of the night, wait for the security agent to pass by and do his work! With GSM, the burglar will have to cut the GSM relay: already more complex!  Finally, I will conclude by saying that what is made by human hands can easily be undone! I completely agree.  The image system is nevertheless very recent. If Securitas had had this system at the time of my subscription, I might be with them now.  I would add that at that time (barely two years ago), the system presented on their websites was not very aesthetically "pleasing"; there were also cost issues (higher with Securitas).  If I had to do it over again, I might choose Securitas (Image + contactless badge are interesting elements). However, I would still need to verify that Securitas's equipment manages different zones. Currently, I have 3 different zones.  I also find it a shame that their site is not very detailed; there is no mention of smoke detector options or various sensors, while EPS offers these and makes it known on its site. Personally, the first transmission element is ADSL: unreliable but free. ADSL is backed up by the RTC so in case of an ADSL outage, no problem: I have the RTC line. As you are all more or less saying, it is really important to be careful when talking about remote surveillance. It's essential to clearly distinguish between security equipment sellers, remote surveillance providers, intervention agents, disguised financing vendors, etc.

Having worked in remote surveillance as a salesperson, I can affirm that some companies use less than ethical sales techniques...

I cannot say today who is the best: Securitas Direct, ADT, EPS, etc. But I can only strongly advise you to thoroughly inform yourself before subscribing to a remote surveillance plan, as some may involve a commitment of up to 4 years!!
