Hello,
my issue is as follows: in the contracts I draft, there are a number of annexes that I mention and number in the body of the contract, and I summarize at the end in a list of annexes.
Is there a function in Word that allows:
- for the numbers of the annexes to automatically shift when I insert a new annex between two existing annexes (e.g.: I insert annex no. 3 in a document that already has 12 annexes. The annexes originally numbered 3 to 12 are automatically renumbered to 4 to 13);
- to insert the list of annexes at the end like one would for a table of contents?
Thank you

I have almost the same question, but my text has a rather special formatting (almost complete nonsense), however, for all the appendices I created a unique formatting (appendix_title). It turns out that the references to my appendices can be found in footnotes or in the text! Without your help, I would really be lost, as I am really struggling to create my table of appendices. SOS PLEASE
I just found out!!! (at least for Word 2007)
First, give each appendix title the style "appendix title" (available in the styles list)
Then, you need to go into Word options to first display the "insert a field" button
Next, go to Table of Contents, click on Table of Contents, then Options.
You will then reach the hierarchy of the table of contents. Type "1" next to "appendix_title," and confirm.
Don't replace the existing table of contents; just confirm and voilà, the table of appendices is inserted!
Of course, if you add a new appendix, just give its title the "appendix_title" style and voilà, it's added to the table of appendices.
Hoping I was clear.

I forgot. First, you need to create this style "title_appendix".
Select the title of the first appendix, then in styles: save the selection as a new style.
Set the font/size/etc. as you wish and create this style.
When creating the new table and numbering the hierarchy of titles, set 0 for "title1" "title2" "title3" (which are there by default), and set 1 for "title_appendix".
That's it!

I have a question:
When we update the annexes table: what happens to the annexes between the titles?
Let me explain: we reference the annexes throughout the document and at the end we include the annexes table with, between each title of the table, the corresponding annex;
So my question is, what happens to the annexes if we update the table? Everything gets pushed down, right?
