Hello,
I would like to recover my auto-insertions and quick parts from my old computer.
My old computer runs WINDOWS 7 and WORD 2010.
My new computer runs WINDOWS 10 and WORD 2016.
On WINDOWS 10, I don't know where to copy the Normal.dotm files.
Thank you in advance for your valuable help.
Configuration: Windows / Edge 14.14393

Hello
Your 2010 insertions can be in the Building Blocks.dotx or in the normal.dotm, it all depends on what you chose when saving in the menu:
- the Building Blocks.dotx is here:
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1036\
that you need to retrieve to transfer to the new computer
- the normal.dotm is either:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
or C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Custom Office Templates
Beforehand, on both computers, remember to display hidden files in the explorer, as the AppData folder is hidden by default
If you want to recover anything else from the old computer, follow this tutorial here:
