Hello,

I have a little problem with Firefox. I installed an update and now I can’t launch it anymore; it shows me:
ERROR: platform version 1.9.0.4 is not compatible with minversion>=1.9.0.5 maxversion<=1.9.0.5

What does it want from me?
Should I uninstall it and reinstall? In that case, is there a way to recover my bookmarks?

Thank you for helping me
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,

First of all, back up your bookmarks:
  • Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks
  • click on File > Export...
  • save this file as "bookmark".

If you recently installed an extension, uninstall it:
  • Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
  • Search for the name of the extension you updated
  • Click on it, then click on "Uninstall"
  • Restart Firefox to completely uninstall the extension.

If you have updated Firefox, note the current version (? in the toolbar > About Firefox)
  • Go to the site,
  • install an older version than the one you currently have.

Once installed,
  • click on "Bookmarks" > Organize Bookmarks > Import
  • select the "Bookmark" file of your bookmarks that you backed up earlier and import them into Firefox.

Bye!

Click Start, then Search and type: bookmarks

If you still have them (bookmarks = marque-pages), the file will show up in the search results.....

By typing: Mozilla in the search, you will see all the Firefox files appear......

Then, to uninstall it properly if you want to install another version, go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and look for "Mozilla Firefox" and uninstall it. (Note the version you are uninstalling....)

Go to the website and choose the version you want to install...Here you have Firefox 3 > http://www.mozilla-europe.org/fr/firefox/

Just type the version you want to install on Google......

Do it! As I explained in my first post...... So normally yes, you should be able to save your bookmarks in a folder.

And I found help on the Firefox website....... so follow all these instructions > http://translate.google.ca/...

Hello,
To fix the issue I encountered today, please modify the problematic numbering on the "Milestone" line in the file "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\platform.ini" (current installation).
In fact, restore the numbering (version) displayed in the dialog box...
After a message warning of the update failure, everything will work again without the need for reinstallation.
Best regards.
