Left 4 Dead Server

Hi everyone, I have a solution to play Left 4 Dead on LAN. It works for me between XP and Vista without any problem.
You just need to make sure that all PCs are connected to the same router (freebox, alice box, neufbox,.....)
Then
(sorry for the spelling)
find the config.cfg and config_default.cfg files (where the game is installed, for me it's D:\Program Files\left 4 dead\left4dead\cfg)
open them with Notepad and change this line in both:
bind "'" "toggleconsole"
to:
bind "F12" "toggleconsole"
and save

download Steam (clubic.fr)
install it (Left 4 Dead is not recognized on it, but we don't care, it's just that the game needs to see Steam, so we show it)
log in
LAUNCH THE GAME one player opens the console F12
enter one of the maps:

AND TYPE: connect XXX.XXX.X.X
X = IP address of the one who starts the game.

Hi, to open the command go to your game installation folder and find your cfg folder (something like c:/program files/left 4 dead/left 4 dead/cfg).

Then in the files: "config_default.cfg" and "config.cfg" you look for the line "bind '\''" "toggleconsole".
and replace the '\'' with the key you want, for example for F12 => bind "F12" "toggleconsole".

Then you just have to launch the game with the .exe and when you are in the menu you press the chosen key.

There you go, I hope this helps you.

Salut à toi Laurent, désolé mais c'est un jeu auquel je n'ai jamais joué et je ne sais pas si tu auras beaucoup de réponses en postant ton message ici. Tu devrais créer un autre post si cela n'existe pas déjà.
Sinon normalement c'est juste un patch à installer que tu trouveras sur Google en tapant World of Warcraft 2.0.3

Essaie de voir si tu peux le télécharger, sinon cherche sur Google. Une fois téléchargé, un double clic dessus devrait l'installer. Et au cas où tu as mis un crack sur ton jeu (histoire bien sûr de ne pas avoir à mettre le CD à chaque fois), sache qu'il faudra sûrement le remettre car en général les patchs changent le fichier lanceur, alors copie-le quelque part avant de l'installer.

Well, it's simple for non-Steam servers. One of my friends showed me a pretty good site (wawa_mania) where you can download Left 4 Dead non-Steam. Then, with a small program, you can turn it into a Steam game. At least, it won't be completely Steam, but you can play without any problems on the servers =)

For the plugins, you can check on alliedmod, I didn't find any tutorials, they don't provide them with the download, plus, the plugins were poorly compiled so I had to modify them.
