What does index.htm mean?

By default, when someone accesses your site by entering, for example, www.site-name.com in a browser, the index.html (or index.htm) page will be presented to them.

This page is the main page of your site, and therefore usually the most important. It is also typically from this page that you will create links to other pages on your site.

Once you have created an index.html page, you need to save it on the server hosting your site, otherwise no one will be able to access it directly...
