Pas de menu apres l'installation de Xubuntu

Je ne suis pas sur d'etre a la bonne place, sinon, Mr. le modérateur, pouvez-vous mettre ce post dans le bon forum, Merci

je suis novice car c'est la 1er fois que je réussi à installer

J'ai enfin réussi à installer Xubuntu 8.04 après des mois .
J.ai acheté une barrette de mem de 512M au debut de septembre car la doc disait que ca prenait 384M pour installé ubuntu, ca été mon erreur. je n'ai jamais été capable d'installé.
J'ai fait un memtest et j'ai vu des erreurs.

J'ai été la retourné ce matin et il vont la vérifié, je vais la r'avoir demain ou une neuve.
en attendant j'ai remis ma vieille barette de 256M. je pars l'installation et hourra, l'installation s'est fait memre si le téléchargement des paquets des linguistiques a pris une heure.

donc tout est installé. mais voici mon problème qui ne doit pas etre grave.

je n'ai pas de menu de départ pour choisir entre Xubuntu et Windows

J'ai installé sur sda6 donc ma racine /
sda7 pour /home
et swap sur sda8

durant l'installation, j'ai mis le GRUB sur la partition racine sda6
