Edit .cfg file

Hello,
Here's my problem with Vista: I want to use codes on Heroes of Might and Magic and I'm told to edit the autoexec.cfg file. So far, so good, but once I modify the file, I can't save it.
I can't overwrite the existing file, and if I change the name, I don't have the permissions to write in the folder.
However, I'm the only one using the computer, it's mine, I should have full power, but apparently not on Vista.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.17

<code>Hi Benzs,
To be able to save your changes in the autoexec.cfg folder you need to:
-go to the folder properties
-click on the "Security" tab
-click on the "Edit" button (to change the permissions)
-in the "Groups or user names" box select "Users" and allow "full control"; the options
"Modify" and "Write" will be checked automatically
-click on "Apply"
There you go, you have full control of the file and you can now modify it as you wish, but be careful because from now on while Vista will let you do what you want, it will no longer ask for confirmation (even if you mess up)

Hello Dark_Seb, could you help me? I'm playing CSS and my problem is that I copied an autoexec from the site "vakarm" to increase my fps. So far, so good, but the issue is that when I copy the autoexec into a text document, once I rename the document, it is still considered a .txt file and not a .cfg file. Can someone explain to me how to transform it into a .cfg file? Please give me a quick response =)

Thank you Dark_Seb, I was stuck on a similar problem (the battle editor of Medieval 2 Total War) for quite a while and this method allowed me to make the right modification ([features]
editor = true).
Thank you very much.

Hello, I am using a Mac but I don't see any software to save .cfg files edited with Notepad that automatically saves them as .txt.
