How to configure Emule (black band)

Solved

Hello, since I downloaded Emule, it still has the black banner, I think I have updated the servers.
The downloads are slow and the port test in "preferences," "connections" failed; I believe it's a firewall issue. My firewall is "Avast" and my antivirus is "Spyware Search and Dest." They are compatible.
Could someone help me configure Emule with my PC running Windows Vista, please?
Thank you.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.3

Hi Birdy, I've followed your instructions up to managing network connections and I don't have a "wifi or ethernet" connection but an icon for "local area connection."
What should I do in this case please? Thank you.

I have already configured my Livebox. Emule TCP and Emule UDP are already enabled in the list of LAN servers, but Emule is still blindfolded.
      WHAT SHOULD I DO THEN?

spyware Sear.and.Des. it's not a firewall but an anti-spyware (tell me if I'm wrong)
Do you have a firewall other than the one from Windows?
I'm sending you a tutorial for the Windows Vista firewall

Yes, I have two: "Windows Firewall" and "Windows Firewall with advanced security features," and my antivirus is Avast.

did you restart the PC at the end of the procedure?
Are you sure you followed the tutorial to the letter?
I don't know your firewall, so I can't help you with that.
But you need to try allowing eMule through it.

However, it's true that my firewall makes my PC a bit slow, but is it related? What should I choose, please?

I suggest Zone Alarm that uses fewer resources
P.S.: Try disabling your firewall and restarting Emule to see if the problem really comes from it

Ok, it's good, I followed the instructions to configure the part and it's working, the port test works very well, thank you.

I didn't check the eMule box in "add a program" in the firewall, now the problem is resolved, thank you.
