You need to copy the file hidserv.dll located in C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 to C:\WINDOWS\system32

And you can start the service in the Computer Management.

See you+

Hello,
I have the same problem: "error 126: specified module could not be found"; apparently the cause of a sudden inability to connect to the internet. I was in the process of reinstalling all my applications following a PC upgrade, and now Internet is inaccessible and the console gives me this error 126 because I cannot start the "application management" service.

The solution provided by dbeurn does not work on my PC (XP home).
See you!

Except by using sfc to install this dll, or regsvr32 with parameters.
