Hello.
I have a Samsung Full HD screen (the37a566), and when I change the display settings (for example, switching to cinema mode instead of the dynamic mode which is way too bright for me), it works, but after about 30 minutes, the screen goes black and automatically switches back to dynamic mode. This happens when I play (PS3 at 1920x1080 60Hz or even lower resolutions, it’s the same), but also when I watch TV, whether it's over-the-air channels or DTT. All modified display options are reset.
I haven't found anyone online with this problem, and I would like to know if it's a problem with the screen or if there’s simply a setting I need to adjust.
Thank you for your help if you can..

No matter knowing the why... Here lie the mysteries of technology.....
A little reset and it's good... Only the result matters....
Happy for you...

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room
Especially when it's not there...!!!! -
I also found this....
when you press the EXIT button for a moment. The
product settings are restored to the factory preset settings
You don't happen to press this button when the shutdown issue occurs, do you????

I'm good, I found it!!! So I used the "plug and play" function to reset the screen back to factory settings. I reconfigured all the outputs this time and apparently it's working. The settings remain saved even after standby, etc. However, I still don't know why it was doing that, but it's alright as long as it's working now^^ Thank you very much, you put me on the right track. Have a great weekend ;)

Hello
I suspect a wrong procedure.... among other things, forgetting to press "Enter" before pressing "menu" to exit......
Here is the procedure (page 25 of the manual or 105 of the attached pdf.)
Press the ENTER button to select "Mode".
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Dynamic", "Standard"
or "Film". Press the ENTER button.
The manual is here: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200805/20080520175711468_BN68-01409H-01L02-0429.pdf

Hello,
I had the same problem and I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
Thank you because you solved the problem.
Personally, I think I was in Store mode instead of Home (in the Plug & Play menu) which reset the configuration we might have changed.
Thank you.-
Hello,
Thank you for this response that solved my image mode issue that reset every 30 minutes and after turning the TV off and on again. The TV was set up in "Store" mode (probably as a display model), so it needed to be reconfigured to "Home" mode. Here's the simple procedure:
Press and hold the EXIT button for 10 seconds, which prompts a return to factory settings.
For more details, here is the official Samsung website for the specific procedure for each model by year of manufacture:

I think I found the cause of your problem....
The choice of the various image modes (Dynamic - Standard - Film - Custom) needs to be made multiple times in the menu
- once in TV mode only (receiving channels via the antenna)
- once in DTV mode (TNT reception)
- once in Ext1 decoder or others (whatever you've plugged in)
- Finally, also on Ext2 DVD player or other VCR (whatever you've plugged in)
If you've only made the adjustment for one thing, you'll end up with a different setting when changing the source of what you're watching....

I did as you told me, and in fact, I still have this problem every 30 minutes where my screen goes black for a few seconds. However, this time it doesn't switch back to dynamic but stays in the mode I've chosen. If I put the TV on standby, when I turn it back on, all the settings are canceled and the picture is back to dynamic, so I have to redo everything, etc. I really don't know what else I could try. Thank you anyway for your valuable help which has already moved me forward on this problem, and if you have any other ideas, don't hesitate.
- we're making progress...
You must have a sleep mode activated after 30 minutes
Look at the manual on page 34 or 114 of the previous pdf, in the section: "Setting the sleep timer"
You need to select stop....
