PS3 80 GB CANNOT PLAY CERTAIN PS2 GAMES

Hello, I just got into the PS3; C BO.....
But, nostalgia for Neo Geo games, etc. hits me from time to time.
So, I have a PS3 80 GB, but with the following PS2 games;
Metal Slug Anthology, Metal Slug 5, KOF 11, KOF Anthology, they won't play...
(same on the PS3 60 GB "backwards compatible")
Is there a trick to do, a software to download (or, is it due to hardware compatibility?)
Otherwise, for Zone 1 DVDs, is there a way to read them?
P.S; When is KOF XXII coming out on PS3 and the next Street Fighter IV?

I have an 80GB PS3, it reads PS1 games perfectly.
But it doesn't read PS2 games at all. Is there anyone who knows where I can download software so that my PS3 "80GB" can read PlayStation 2 games? Thanks in advance ^^

Unfortunately, not all games are compatible (only 73% if I remember correctly). I myself have issues with slowdowns with certain PS2 games, and others that won’t boot at all!

On the PS3 site, they say that for PS2 games, it's not yet optimal, so if my information is correct, we'll have to wait a bit longer.

Sorry, at the moment there is no software or anything else that allows you to play PS2 games on a PS3 other than the 60GB model.

If so, could someone kindly have the patience to explain ("simplify") the steps to follow in simple terms (I'm really bad with IT)?

And do PS1 games work too?
Because my boyfriend is going to get me one for Christmas and he's hesitating between the 80GB and 160GB, so I want to know if both formats are compatible with it, or if some games from those formats work.
