Hello, I have a 80GB PS3 that I just acquired thanks to Phone and Phone, its identification is:
CECHLO4. If someone could tell me if I can play PS2 games, I bought God of War and I can't get it to work. If you have any idea, anything that could help me, I thank you.

Hello, I don't have much information about backward compatibility, but I just ordered a pack with a PS3 from Phone and Phone, and I don't have the details of the contents of the PS3 box. Can you tell me what you received with your console? I ordered an 80GB PS3 just like you. Moreover, given all the negative comments about this sales site, I'm starting to panic because I'm waiting for it for Christmas; it's a gift for a teenager along with the phone and subscription, and I'm getting worried about not receiving it in time for the holidays, even though the order confirms delivery before Christmas.
My neighbor has the same console and he can't play PS2 games, but he's had it for a while, so maybe that's changed.
    Thanks for your response.

No, it's the same damn shit. So what I did was I exchanged my 80 GB PS3 for a 60 GB one. What you can do is sell it for the same price and buy yourself a PlayStation 3, but with 60 GB, so you'll be able to read the games, but you'll need to do an update on the 60 GB, okay?

Hello, I just bought a 160GB PS3 and the seller told me that PS2 games would work after an update, but it still doesn't work. I was just given the two God of War games on PS2 while waiting for the one on PS3 in 2010, and I can't even play them. Can someone please help me?

She has not been on sale since 2007, she has become rare, but you can find her on eBay.

    Hello

Unfortunately, only the 60GB PS3 consoles are backwards compatible with the PS2, but at 80%.

buy a PS2 or sell your game
but buying a PS2 now would be foolish
rather buy a second-hand one (around €70 at Micromania) maybe even less

Hello, just a question, does Final Fantasy XII work on the PS360go? I've also heard a story about squares: with 1 square it doesn't work, with 2 squares you have some chance, and with 3 squares, yes, there you go, thank you, goodbye.

So, to answer all the questions, only the first PS3s sold on the market have backwards compatibility. As for whether PS2 games will work on your PS3, it's true BUT only the games that you download via the PlayStation Network.

I don't know much because I have a 250GB PS3, but you need to update with 3 firmwares, 1.60, and then only certain games are compatible; the list can be found on the website http://faq.eu.playstation.com/bc.

No, there are only 60 GB that can play PS1 and PS2 games, but they no longer work and there’s nothing left on the market.

I have an 80 GB PS3 that works very well, so you need to either change the disc of your PS3 or buy another PS3 at Micromania.
