Personally, I was a bit desperate about the slow speed of my downloads (45kb/sec on average). I just had to change the listening port from 19252 to 6881 and now, I have an average rate of 750kb.... nothing to compare. lol
Anyway, it's up to you to see, and I hope it works for you too.
Enjoy

Hello, you seem to know Vuze well, but I can't seem to burn or even copy my movies (downloaded with Vuze). Could it be because I'm using Vista? I'm going on vacation next Thursday and I wanted to put my movies on a USB stick, but apparently that's not possible. It's very important for my kids, thank you very much.

Salut Nexis, I wanted to ask you how you achieved that speed. Did you change something, like the configuration of your modem or anything else? If so, could you explain to me what to do, please?
Jublive
Thanks a lot, it's working perfectly to switch the port to 6881 :p

Please everyone, how to change the port, help please!

In any case, I have Nexxis like you and it works, thanks for the tip.
Well, I'm going to post a response; I have better things to do, but there are plenty of people struggling with this software when there's really only one killer solution, and it's this one.
For torrents, you can manage; it's still pretty easy to find some.
For the configuration, just leave both ports listening at 50000 TCP and UDP.
You'll need to open them in your router's settings. For me, with Orange, it's super simple; just go to 192.168.1.1, then to Livebox advanced settings, NAT/PAT, and add a new rule, putting 50000 for both ports. You can find everything you need on Google.
Then, and this is the most important part, uninstall Vuze—don't use an uninstaller, just go through the control panel, etc.
Reinstall Vuze normally, and it will pick up the old configuration because it's stored in the registry; everything is recorded.
And then it rocks hard.
Well, enjoy; I've got better things to do.

Go take a look here, everything is explained, in English though ...

Hello, during my first downloads, my movies were downloading multiple at the same time. Recently, they are downloading one by one. Why????
Hi, I know this tutorial is old but I have a solution for the ports, see:
http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Why_ports_like_6881_are_no_good_choice
http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Why_ports_like_6881_are_no_good_choice
Well, here is my tip.
First, click on Tools => Options => and click in the search bar at the bottom and type "Launch." Once you have done this, click on "Launch" and you will see "Display Vuze UI Chooser," then click on [Show]. A small window will appear offering you two choices; check the second one where it says "Classic interface" and click "OK." It will now prompt you to restart, and it's best to do so, knowing that it will only restart Vuze.
Several windows will open: one will tell you that your restart was successful and a second will prompt you to choose your language. Click next, and it will offer you three choices: "Beginner," "Intermediate," and "Advanced." Choose "Advanced" and click next. Then you will have to choose a mode; select Auto mode and close the pages.
A page will reopen to ask if you want to keep these changes for the future, unless you want to practice doing this manipulation several times, click yes.
Now, back to business.
Click in the taskbar at the top on Tools => Options => and normally your mode should be "Advanced." Then click on "Connection" on your left.
You need to check Prefer UDP Connections and fill in the two boxes a little higher up and set both to 51,000. Then check everything you can see in this category, except "Enable" in Support for HTTP seeding and the last phrase "Prompt to select when a download..."
Next, type "Advanced Network Configuration" in your search bar, set your maximum number of outgoing simultaneous connections to "3" and in max outstanding outbound connections to "2048."
Then on your left, you will see Transfer with a small triangle next to it. Click on the triangle and you will see Auto-Speed, click on it and a frame will display "Algorithm [Auto-speed (beta)," click on it and select [Auto-speed (classic).
Despite my repetitive writing and my rather poor French, I hope I have been of great use to you and that you will use as few IT terms as possible, that your download connection will greatly improve on Vuze (Azureus) and that this will help you. Good luck with the rest.

Hello, I've been downloading at an average of 1MB/s, but today I'm not able to download at more than 50KB/s. My ports are open, everything was fine. Can anyone tell me where the problem might be coming from?
Hello, I updated Vuze to the latest version and since then the downloads go fine but the problem is that it blocks my internet access, the only way to surf is to disable the Windows firewall (Vista), there must be a solution to this issue, right?
Yes, indeed there is a solution to your problem.
If you need to disable your firewall (on Vista) to go online, it’s simply because (I think) you haven’t allowed the port for Azureus Vuze.
You can find your port in tools/options/connection from the Vuze interface (top left) ;)
Then go to the control panel from the start menu and go to programs then Security (in the small menu on the left) and allow a program through Windows Firewall.
Then you click continue, then add a port, enter the port that was listed in Azureus Vuze, save the changes and there you go...
The operation is complete, you should now be able to surf and download without issues.
Best regards, Interlude ;)

Hello,
I'm using Vuze to search for SMS extraction software for an iPhone, like IskySoft iPhone Data Recovery, but it only suggests torrents related to video and text in the search results. At least, I think so. I'm mainly relying on the icons in front of the torrents (a screen for movies, a controller for video games, and a piece of paper for text, right?)
How can I make it search for software? How do I configure Vuze?
Thank you!

Personally, I installed the latest version which I was able to find in French.
I haven't configured anything, the default settings haven't been changed and it works very well with Neuf.
Knowing that this is called SFR box.

hello everyone I have the same problem: I started downloading torrents I've made all the right settings in the software but the progress bar doesn't move on any of the torrents it's frustrating. I don't think it's the torrents' fault. Plus, I installed the ONO plugin but nothing works. Can you help me please?
Hi,
I have the same problem and I can't find a clear solution on the forums.
Have you found a solution since then?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but Vuze is one of the best downloading sites I know; no surprise porn videos like with eMule, which is a serious trap that could even lead to prison with an 8-month suspended sentence, all because I stumbled upon some child pornography films, showing that we are not safe from anything. There you go.
