Hello,
I want to find the lyrics of a song I learned in elementary school, some snippets come back to me but not enough to conduct a proper search.
"In the white forest of Ukraine,......
Chorus: tell us little mother what they saw on the way, tell us little mother until tomorrow..."
Thank you in advance.

Good evening,
I too learned this lovely song in the fifth grade, 25 years ago...

In the white forest of Ukraine
Glides a white troika
In the silence it carries
Little Boris and Natasha

Tell us
Little mother
What they saw on the way

Tell us
Little mother
Until tomorrow

They meet the sable
The blue fox and then the wolf
"If you are going to the Tsarina
Would you take us with you?"

Tell us
Little mother
What they said on the way

Tell us
Little mother
Until tomorrow

"We are not going to the Tsarina
We are returning to our isba"
Wolf and fox and sable
Got into the troika

Tell us
Little mother
What they did on the way

Tell us
Little mother
Until tomorrow

And all together they return
Huddled together to keep warm
In the white forest of Ukraine
With Boris and Natasha

Hello,

I didn't think there were so many people who knew this song because personally I've never heard anyone hum it.
For my part, I learned it almost 40 years ago and it still runs through my head.
All the little ones who pass through the house will have at least heard it once. I hope they will keep the memory of this lovely melody somewhere in their minds.

Hello everyone,

I’m also looking for a song that I always hum in my head

The troika

Come quickly my neighbor
come to my countryside
Christmas came this morning
I learned it on the way
tra la la la la la la la la la lere
tra la la la la la la la le-erre...

I would really like to find the lyrics

it was part of the school singing program in CM1 and CM2 with France musique in 1968

G did the same research a few years ago and found the record of the school program from that year for sale. Unfortunately, it's too late for me. For my part, I'm rather looking for "L'air de Laurette," which I now know is by Grétry but with slightly different lyrics.
As for "La troïka," the lyrics above correspond to another song that G learned later while working with very young children. Ours started with (I quote from memory): "Already winter has arrived - We are radiant - The troika will lead us on the frozen paths."
I really liked in this program "Les fleurs de mon moulin," a very beautiful lieder by Schubert with French lyrics by Marcel Pagnol, if I've done my research correctly since then. These melodies have been running through my head for over 40 years too :-)

The troika, it seems to me, was:
Winter has already arrived - The roads are frozen - The troika will lead us on the icy paths... I can't remember the rest. It was in 1967 or 1968...

In the white forest of Ukraine, glides a white troika,
in the silence it takes little Boris and Natacha for a ride;
refrain
tell us little mother, what they saw on the way,
tell us little mother, until tomorrow.

They meet the sable, the blue fox and then the wolf,
if you go to the tsarina, will you take us with you.
refrain

and all together they come back, huddled to keep warm
in the white forest of Ukraine, with Boris and Natacha.
refrain
I sang this song with my brother at every family gathering for all these
past years, I am 60 years old, I hope it pleases you as much as it does me.

Hi there!

Four years ago, someone had the great idea to put a version of it on YouTube
Here's a gift!
