We need to find out which program is causing this error.
We will choose the rustic method: Restart the computer until the error messages appear but do not close them. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, select the "Processes" tab, sort the list by username (click on "Username"), locate the processes started by your own username (which is different from SYSTEM or LOCAL SERVICE, NETWORK etc...!), close them one by one by clicking on a process then > End Task > confirm by "Yes" (Before confirming, make sure to remember its name in the form XXXXXX.exe). Repeat the operation until the error messages close by themselves; if that happens, make sure to note the name of the last process you killed.
Before attempting to do anything else on the machine (like opening your web browser, for example), start by restarting it to restore order.
The issue with this method is that, aside from being lengthy, it will not yield any results if it’s Windows generating the message. But personally, I don’t know how else to do it.

Ok, I noted what you proposed. I'll do it tomorrow (I can't do it now). Thanks Yoan, I'll let you know how it goes. Bye.
I also get "unable to find tray icon" when I open the computer, but when I click on it, the message disappears and everything works. Johan's "rustic" method seems dangerous to me (I'm always afraid of deleting something important)!
Did it work?
Did it work?
You have a software that seems unable to load an icon in the system tray (next to the clock), what have you done for this message to appear (installation of new software, use of a cleaner, uninstallation, etc.)?

Hi Yoan,
Actually, I deleted a file that HijackThis flagged as suspicious and then I couldn't access the internet. After that, I restored to 4 hours before. All of this because I thought that the hellish noise from the computer might be due to a trojan. Now, to be honest, I have 2 messages at startup, the first one is "this application could not start because rtl100.bpl is missing. Reinstalling this application may fix this problem" and then when I close that, I get "unable to set tray icon". That's everything I've got. What do you think?
