Hello,
I propose the following method to region-free my PHILIPS DVP3260 DVD player.
This method is available on the internet and associated with other player references.
Also if you have managed to region-free another Philips model, feel free to add it here!

- empty tray, press SYSTEM MENU
- go to the PREFERENCES page
- dial in sequence [1], [3], [8], [9], [3], [1]
- The REGION CODE will then appear on the screen
- using the up/down arrows, set the REGION CODE to 0 and press OK

A+
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Before typing the numbers you have to go to the menu and open the Preferences page, then you type the numbers... and it works!!!

I used the procedure and I’m almost done, except now my DVD asks for a password to read the DVDs... and nothing works, not even the 138931... Oh help!

    Here's the translation to English:

"here's what I found on the net and tested successfully

for the Philips DVP 3040: turn on the player, open the tray, on the remote press the digits 99990 (the 0 being the multizone code) and then OK

for the Philips DVP 3142 and DVP 3144: turn on the player, open the tray, on the remote press the digits 98790 (the 0 being the multizone code) and then OK

to know the active zone of these players: turn on the player, open the tray, on the remote press the digits 966"

Thank you very much for your information on how to deactivate the Philips DVD player. I just bought the Philips DVP3264 DVD player; it works perfectly as well and it's super simple and fast!!!

    good evening,

    i've had a problem for a good 5 months now, and i haven't found a solution.
    i updated my dvp3260/12 player and when i checked i found dvp32601/12.
and with this update my player doesn't detect divx nor dvds, is there a solution.

Personally I have the Philips DRDR3380 DVD recorder and this is how I had to do it:

    - Turn on the machine WITHOUT a DVD
    - Wait for the message "no disc"
    - Enter "0086000" then "OK"
    - Turn off the machine

    Then...

    - Turn on the machine WITHOUT a DVD
    - Wait for the message "no disc"
    - Enter "0009" then "OK"

You will then see a message telling you that your region is 0
