Hello,
I notice that the startup of my PC is longer than usual.
Why? And how can I fix this problem?
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello,
You can reduce the number of processes launched at startup. They don't all need to run every time.

Click on Start > Run, then type: MsConfig

In the window, under the Startup tab, you will uncheck the boxes for all the programs that you use little or not at all. Then Apply and OK
Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

>> Perform defragmentation using the Windows tool. Or with a utility like "Diskeeper Lite".

>> CCleaner of course

It will leave my computer normal, there is no risk of losing Windows XP (formatting required).

What I told you to do in MsConfig, for the programs launched at startup.......you are not uninstalling them by doing this....you are just preventing them from starting up with every boot.

For example: you don't often go on MSN.....so in the startup list you will uncheck the box in front of Msgr (messenger)....and it won't start up anymore.
You can open it at your convenience by clicking on Programs > Messenger.......

If you want to reverse the process, just do it again, type MsConfig and re-check the boxes. Nothing dangerous, no need to worry!

For CCleaner, it is very useful for cleaning your PC of unnecessary cookies, temporary files, and browsing history....

Thank you for your help, but I want to ask you another question, is the restart mandatory?
