NTSC and PAL

Hello,
I would like to know what the terms NTSC and PAL mean when it comes time to burn a photo or video edit onto a DVD or CD. I often work with NERO and also MOVIE MAKER. I'm not sure if I need to change the configuration in the tools. I have the box checked for PAL. THANK YOU
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

    NTSC = Is a color video encoding standard developed in the USA.
    PAL = Is a color video encoding standard developed in Germany.

    So NTSC is for the United States and PAL is for Europe.

    PAL is for Europe with 25 frames per second (50 Hz) and NTSC for the USA, etc., with 29 frames per second (60 Hz), so better than PAL. To play a DVD recorded in NTSC on a home DVD player, the player must be compatible with NTSC and the TV must also be compatible. With a computer, no problem!

    In France, PAL is used more than NTSC (America).

    Hello,
    I must say that all the DVDs and photo CDs I made work very well in the home player. So if I understand correctly, this does not affect the visual or audio quality of my edits, even if it is in PAL and not NTSC. THANK YOU.

    PAL is the French format if you want, and NTSC is the American format (also Japanese ^^)
