I unfortunately encountered the same problem ... I was also in the process of writing my third novel ...
unfortunately, it is impossible to continue writing on Word or to copy what you have already written ...
you probably didn’t make a "bad manipulation", either Word has expired (you were in a trial period, in which case you can resolve the problem by entering the product key which is usually found with your computer in the user manual if Word was already on your PC, or on the box of your software if you purchased it
otherwise, you may be inadvertently using an illegal version of Word and in that case ... it is impossible to unlock the selection
