I found it! You click on profile, then: photos, then you click on the little pencil of the album where you want to add your photo, and you select add photos. You will then arrive at the famous page where you are offered the upload option.
Below it says: "having problems uploading?" You click on the first link: normal upload, and you select your photos.

so hover your mouse without clicking on the thumbnail of the album where you want to add photos, and in the upper left corner of the thumbnail, a little pencil will appear

Actually, I found the trick....
You go to "profile" in the top right corner,
then you click on "Attach" and the little "photos" icon in the first comment section visible at the top
which automatically adds it to your already created album.
