connection issues with Steam Solved

Question

Hello,here is my problem when I try to connect to Steam, I receive the following message:Steam - errorUnable to connect to the Steam network.This may be related to an internet connection problem or the Steam network.Visit www.steampowered.com for more information.So I went to the URL which has NO information, furthermore I don't think it's a Steam server issue since I can update, but when it wants to open Steam, it won't open.Please help me :)

Hello everyone, I also couldn't connect this morning. Exactly the same problem...

So here’s the solution:

go to my computer / your hard drive / program files / steam
delete the ClientRegistry.blob file
restart your steam
it will update, and voilà, you're good to go ;)

If that doesn't work:

check that the computer has the correct date/time, as it's necessary to establish a secure connection.
check the security level of your router and then your computer.

Hello, I have the same problem as you. I deleted ClientRegistry.blob but when I restart Steam it tells me: Steam is already running, you cannot launch two copies of Steam simultaneously, and ClientRegistry.blob comes back every time. Please help me, I'm struggling.

Hey everyone.

So I had the same problem this morning, meaning: unable to connect to Steam because they say it's impossible to connect to the servers.

I searched through tons of forums and several times I was told to reinstall Steam.

So I tried, and I completely uninstalled Steam. However, all my games got uninstalled at the same time. But it's the result that counts.
After reinstalling it, I updated it, and I had to reinstall my games. It took me about an hour in total, so no problem there. But we'll see if it lasts.
I was also told that I needed to repair Steam by using the install.exe file. I tried, but nothing changed.

Anyway, I just wanted to inform you. Good luck for the future :)

For the 208 position or the PC reboot! It’s probably MaAgent.exe! I had the same problem, my computer rebooted when I launched CSS and it showed a blue screen! To solve this problem, run a scan to see if you have any viruses and disable mAgent.exe in the startup programs of Windows.

IT DOESN'T WORK THE ClientRegistry.blob keeps coming back and when I launch Steam it shows me:

NETWORK CONNECTION STEAM UNAVAILABLE. Offline mode is not available because there is no Steam connection information saved on this computer.
If you want to use Steam again, you must reconnect to the Steam network.
Click here to check the status of the Steam network.

I also have the same problem, it's annoying because it's vacation but try going to your work folder, then local disk, then program files, then STEAM, and delete the clientregistry.blob file.

I hope it works for you, in any case not for me ^^

I also noticed that it was the patch file, so it comes back, but I understand the aspect of *deleting* the patch file because there was a bug in Steam, it thought the old patches were good.

But Steam wasn't as stupid as when there are no patches and everything is correct. So if we delete the patch file, it will have to go fetch the correct patch from the data center, but what I don't understand is that there's still the connection problem.

I think everything has been said, we need to change Windows, it happened to me this morning, I was online, and I automatically went offline.

I don't know why, it's 6:10 PM on my watch, and it hasn't come back... so I don't know what this mess is! But I can't connect to the network with Steam, otherwise all my games work.

I would like to find a solution...

P.S.: I know, I haven't changed Windows, I love XP, but if Steam is bugging because of XP... we're screwed (we're already screwed :'(

Go to the firewall of your ADSL module (Livebox, Free, etc.) and select the medium level because if it is too high, CONNECTION TO THE STEAM NETWORK IS IMPOSSIBLE.

I also had this issue and I tried everything (reinstallation, changing Windows, deleting log files (client registry), changing the time) but nothing worked.
For me, the solution was simply to disable the firewall of the live box.
(For those who don't know the default password, it is "admin"
then "security mode" and "firewall".

Hello, here’s a workaround that worked for me:  You can install it from the command line, it is located in the \steam\bin\ folder. This is a failure of the Steam Service. Try activating the Steam Service:  Quit Steam. Click on the Start menu > Run (Windows key + R) Enter the following command:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\Steamservice.exe /Install   (If you installed Steam using a different path, replace C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam with the correct path.)  This command requires administrator rights and may take a few minutes. Launch Steam and retest the issue.
