Acer 5310 impossible a formater

salut a tous et a toutes
il y a environ 6 mois j ai fait l acquisition d un portable acer 5310 sous vista et comment dire... VISTA C EST PAS TOP.
en voulant installer xp pro je remarque que mon disque dur n est pas reconnu par mon bios
celui ci ne serait il pas tatoué ??? si oui comment s en débarrasser
