Hello,
I am currently creating an Excel file to calculate the cost of works. In my main sheet, I have all the areas of a building (Column A), the number of square meters (Column B), and the price per square meter (Column C). My user wants to be able to choose from a dropdown list the price per square meter based on previous projects.
So far, I have managed to do this thanks to all the discussions; I have defined my list names (one for each area, that is A266:B271, which corresponds to a range of cells), but when I go to Tools/Validation/List/Source and type =ListeVestiaires, the following message appears: "The source list must be delimited or refer to a single row or column."
Thank you all for your help; I have over 100 areas to fill in, and I really don't understand where I made a mistake.
If I wasn't clear, feel free to ask!

Hello again,
thank you very much micami83 for your help, but indeed I really need my two columns; the first one with the name of the project and the second one with the cost; it's the cost that should be transferred to my file.
Indeed, it works with just one column
If someone else has already had this issue ....
Thank you

In fact, the solution that would seem to be the most suitable for your problem at first glance would be:
1° to create a validation list in a column
2° to use a SEARCH function with INDEX / MATCH to display the corresponding price per square meter for the project.
But to assist you if needed, we need the type of organization of your data.
sincerely
