HDMI issue connecting PS3 to a SHARP.

Hello,
I bought a Sharp LC32X20E full HD TV two days ago. I want to connect my PS3 with an HDMI cable. My PlayStation has been connected digitally, so the output is HDMI, and when I plug it into my TV, there is no image (the screen is blank). The manual doesn't provide any explanations. If someone could help me because it's extremely frustrating; I buy a TV and can't play on it in full HD. My HDMI cable works fine on other TVs, and the ends are gold-plated, so it’s of good quality. I think it might be an issue with the TV. The console can’t select 1080p; it only selects 1080i. Is there a difference??? Thanks for replying.

I had the same problem yesterday. In fact, when the screen is blank, you just need to switch to the HDMI channel, that's all. For example, I was on AV3, but I had to switch to HDMI, that's it!

Hi, all my problems have been solved. My TV wasn't detecting my PS3, even though I went to Micromania for them to set it up in HDMI; no problem there. At home, I couldn't get it to work. I called a repairman, and he changed the inside of my TV and gave me another cable (it could either be due to the modifications inside or the cable).
Suggestion: change the HDMI cable even if it works on another TV.

To configure the PlayStation to just 1080P, go to the display settings and uncheck all the other boxes except for 1080P.

Use HDMI port 5; I had the same problem. I tried all the ports and in the end, I noticed that port 5 on the side worked. Don't forget to change the input to the correct one as well, and at startup, the PlayStation will detect it and ask you if you want to use the resolution 1080p (maximum). The port 5 should be on the left side near the power button of the TV.

To be sure, check the provided manual.

Everything should work normally after that.
