Je can't find the key that allows me to write numbers in a smaller font, for example in a molecular formula

water formula = H2O

I would like to write the number 2 in a smaller size

I know it exists. Please help me

You go to format, character, symbol all the way to the right there are 3 choices:
- superscript
- normal
- and subscript.
You select superscript

Hi Fabienne,
What you're asking for is perhaps more of a subscript than a superscript... that is, a small 2 lowered for the molecular formulation.
For Word, format, font, check subscript.

  the small 2 is easy to do, on a laptop, just next to the A there are the arrows and above the arrows there is the small ² there you go, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for!

Hi everyone!

So the best and simplest solution to do this is as follows:

To insert an exponent, simply press the 3 keys "ctrl+shift+=" simultaneously, and you can start writing in exponent. To return to normal mode, press "ctrl+spacebar" simultaneously :)

There you go!!!

you have a key at the top left of your keyboard with a small 2
That's for the exponent 2, but what if you want 3 or 4?
And when you want subscripts?

In conclusion, don't join a discussion that's already a few years old...

    It's indeed in Word 2003, but with one detail, it's the same in other versions, except that the special characters table is a bit more readable thanks to the "subsets" dropdown menu.
    
    As for the translation of "put the square root below my formula (n.p.q.)", I didn't quite understand; she might have wanted something a bit more complex, but I can't transcribe it here. Otherwise, there are free mathematical utilities for Word like the Cmath math glossary.
