Hello,
to be strict about something means to be rigid about something.
is it said in French to be on horseback between two things? for example, I hear people say to be on horseback between culture and religion.
thank you

Hello,
That means there’s a bit of both, I’m straddling the German and French cultures for example, I have a bit of both, one leg in each so to speak...

I don't care about your horse or my two months, I want to know what "going back to the flood" means && a flood of words!!
Hello,
Indeed, to be caught between x and y means to hesitate between x and y.

The truth belongs to those who seek it, not to those who claim to possess it.

Ah no, not "hesitate"!
Someone who is "caught between x and y" is not necessarily indecisive or anxious about having to choose one side; rather, it's someone who is shaped by the major influences of both, in both good and bad ways. It's someone who is not molded by a specific cultural context but benefits from the contributions of multiple cultures or schools of thought.
