Hello everyone,

Here I’m looking for the title of a TV movie (I think) that I watched when I was younger but I can’t remember the name. It’s the story of a little boy accused of having set fire to his middle school, and while awaiting judgment his parents send him to boarding school at his grandmother’s in the countryside. His grandfather has been missing for several months. The boy befriends another boy and discovers in a garage a time machine and tries to activate it. They are then transported to the era of gold prospectors and find his grandfather again. That’s what I remember; if anyone knows what I’m talking about I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Do you know "The Time Machine" with the Eloi and the Morlocks? I love that movie (Careful, the 60s version by George Pal, not the Simon Wells 2000s one which is a total crap). It’s aged, but it still has its charm.

Yes Corbin, Time after Time by N. Meyer is great
to tell the truth, I converted it to 3gp and put it on my Motorola v3x and I watched it on the train
and I have a collection of travel movies in time, a collection that I’m expanding day by day even though I’m missing a bunch

Hello,

I was lucky, back then, to record this film on a VHS tape. I’m going to try to copy it onto a DVD.

    Since my message, I’ve unplugged my VCR and I’m annoyed to reconnect it (lack of space). So I’ll ask someone I know to copy it for me instead, because I’d like to watch that TV movie again, which isn’t available for sale.

As my partner Squalman puts it so well, George Pal's version is the best, Simon Wells' version (who is a descendant of H.G. Wells) is crap.

As befits a time-traveling film, there is also Tomorrow, When the War Began. In this film, it is H.G. Wells himself who travels through time in pursuit of Jack the Ripper.
