Problem with Mario Galaxy on the Wii

Hello,
I arrive on the planet where you have to surf with a ray
there it asks to put the command horizontal facing the screen and it doesn't work
likewise when I arrive on the planet where you have to ride on the ball, I can't do it.

please give me a hand

    1 check the batteries...
    2 do not unplug the nunchuk
    3 your sensor is positioned too far from the wiimote

      I changed the batteries, didn't unplug the nunchuk, and I'm about 1.5 meters away from the TV.
      The problem is just before, when I talk to the penguin, the cursor is on the screen and
      works very well.
      But at the moment when it asks to place the controller horizontally,
      nothing happens.

    There are several possibilities

    1) your controller's batteries are not working anymore

    2) your sensor is blocked by an object

    3) your sensor is defective

    4) your controller is defective

    5) your sensor is defective
