Hello,

I bought a Toshiba Camileo camcorder and when I tried to charge it, a red light came on and it won't turn on even after a night of charging. What should I do to turn it back on? Thank you.

Please help me....

I'm interested in the answer... same here... recently, I've had charging issues or something else, but in any case, it won't turn on anymore.

Hello,

So, I had a problem with the Camileo, when connected to the PC we could access the content, but otherwise it wouldn't turn on.
The downside is that the warranty had expired.. so I bought a replacement battery online (around €20) and now it's like new.
Everything is working fine.

Me too. I received a first camcorder that wouldn’t turn on after two weeks. I then activated the warranty. Yesterday, I received another camcorder, with a touchscreen that doesn’t work...

I'm having the same problem with mine; it beeps 3 times and then turns off even though the battery is charged!
, I'm going to send it back to them because it's still under warranty, but how long does it take for them to send it back to us?

would someone be kind enough to provide me with an invoice for this Camileo camcorder?
I am having exactly the same problem as everyone else, Tosh needs an invoice and I bought the camcorder for my daughter on eBay and the lady who sold it to me can't "find" an invoice.
So, I am stuck...
It would be really nice if someone could lend me a hand.

I bought another battery, but nothing works. The red light stays
constantly on while it should be blinking during the entire

I am the biggest donkey of humanity. I had exactly the same problem as Alain for almost 6 or 7 months. I bought a new battery, I tried everything. And now I'm reading your comment... and you're right.
All it took was to flip the battery, but damn, I'm such an idiot!

The LED blinks 3 times and then stops blinking, and it still doesn't turn on.

SO CALL TOSHIBA THEY'LL REPLACE IT FOR YOU! THEY DON'T BOTHER TO REPAIR IT, SO WE MUST ALL HAVE PROBLEMS IF IT TURNS OUT TO BE A SERIES ISSUE !!

almost the same problem with the Camileo P10 model: whether it's on the mains charger or via USB port, the red light keeps blinking continuously and so as soon as I unplug it, it’s as if I hadn’t done anything? ...
I'm hesitant to buy a new battery for no reason ...

I also had the same problem; the camcorder won't charge. At first, the light stays a steady red (it doesn't blink), then it goes off after about 20 seconds. As a result, the battery doesn't charge. I exchanged it for a new one; how long will it work? This isn't a manufacturing defect because there are already 6 of us on this forum with the same battery charging issue?!?

get the business going and buy a new battery. This camcorder is really crap.

GOOD NEWS

I contacted Toshiba who sent me a box to send back the Toshiba Camileo (H10) camcorder. The carrier came to pick it up and two days later I received a new camcorder, but not the H10, the H20. At least it works and is a bit more powerful than the H10. I'm so happy, they have a very good customer service and we can say it's fast, 5 days, I think they are unbeatable at this point.

Same problem with my daughter's camcorder.
So thanks to those who posted ideas here, I'm going to order another battery, send it back to Tosh and all that.
It's useless.
I had a Sony before that worked for 9 years without any issues.
In short, useless.

In my opinion, what you're asking for is going to be tough because you need to change the name, address, purchase date... the person who sold it to you, if they bought it online, should be able to get another invoice, and if they bought it in a store (like Confo), they should go to customer service, and they will give them a duplicate.

it's not really about cheating but rather about fixing a device that doesn't work and for which I can't get the invoice.
Ok, it's true, it's my fault for buying on eBay, but on the other hand, the device has a well-known and acknowledged problem, and Toshiba, by requesting the invoice, makes it easier for themselves in my case to avoid repairing it.

Have you all checked that the tiny piece of plastic that covers the battery contacts (for the battery/camcorder connection) has been removed??? I had this issue too...

Salut, j'ai renvoyé le Toshiba par UPS, ils l'ont reçu ce matin en Allemagne. J'ai appelé le service après-vente, et ils m'ont dit que je devais attendre 20 jours soit pour qu'ils me le réparent, soit pour qu'ils m'en renvoient un autre. Qu'en pensez-vous et combien de temps pensez-vous que je vais attendre ?

Yes, for me it lasted about 15 days.
On the other hand, they don't repair the series that is no longer produced, they replaced it for me :-)

redouane5592, they replaced my H10 with an H20 (the screen is wider but not much added functionality!), but that's cool!! I find the customer service very quick because I received it in 5 days! They don't repair it, they just replace it directly!!
By the way, if anyone knows how to use the flashlight on the H20, I'd appreciate the tip because I still haven't managed to get it to work! lol

I have the same problem and I really don’t know what to do!! I understood the lesson well! It needs to be sent back to Toshiba!! The problem is that my camcorder was bought in France but is currently in Algeria!!! Luckily, one of my relatives is there and will be coming this month, but do you think I should give it to him to return it to Toshiba or should I ask him to bring me a battery??!! I’m asking this because I won’t be able to retrieve it until March/April!!!
By the way, how many months is the Toshiba warranty valid for? Because it was purchased in February/March 2009!!
And while I’m thinking about it, is the Toshiba warranty international??!! Because Toshiba is present in Algeria!

Hello, the warranty only works in the country of purchase, which is France for you, and you must contact them. They will send you a box, and you have to send the camcorder back to them in it. I waited 20 days, and they sent me another brand new camcorder, and moreover, it's an H20.

Hello,
I bought a Toshiba Camileo H20 and so far there are no charging issues. The problem is more about the format of the recorded videos. For example, I film, and when I'm done, I send it to my PC, and until then, everything is fine; I can view it with any software like VLC or Windows Media Player, etc. But when I want to put it on a USB stick to watch it from a DVD player or even a PS3, it tells me "incompatible file for playback."

So I tried converting the videos using a converter like "DivX Converter," but it doesn't accept this file type. What should I do to be able to watch them on a different device than my PC?

I would like to be able to store all these videos on a CD and be free to watch them on any device.

Take a double USB cord (to double the power), connect one side to the camcorder and the other side has 2 USB plugs to connect to the PC, applicable for any device that no longer charges on the PC (mobile phones, etc.). Since the battery has gone into sleep mode, a single USB plug is not enough to start charging it.

I had the same issue; unfortunately, there is no solution other than getting it repaired. Check carefully if it is still under warranty; if so, don't waste a minute! If not, I'm sorry I can't help you further.
