Hello,
I have a SIGMA 100-300mm F4.5-6.7 DL lens. Is it compatible with a digital camera (before I used it for a film camera), can I buy any brand?
Thank you in advance

I have a Canon EOS 1000D and I just tried the Sigma 70-300 lens, everything is working fine ;)

    I contacted Sigma:
I own a Sigma 100-300mm 1:4.5-6.7 DL lens from my old Canon film camera. I would like to use it with a new Canon 40D, but it shows an error. While searching on forums, I read that the error was due to the updated Canon software. Is it possible to update the software on my lens? What would be the cost? Thank you

    Their response:
Sorry, but this product is incompatible with recent cameras. We no longer perform updates for it because it is too old, and components are no longer available.

No worries if compatible with Canon. (inscribed on the lens packaging.)

Hello, I have a Canon EOS 1100D and a Sigma 70-300mm lens that my mother used on her film camera. I can only take photos using the screen and not through the viewfinder... why is that???

I have the same goal and I am currently researching the topic. What is certain is that it doesn't work on a Nikon. I haven't tried to use it on a Canon digital camera yet. If someone has, please let us know.

I have the same goal, I tested it on my digital cameras 10D, 300D, and 400D, the result is satisfactory.

        Hello,

I understand that you tested the Sigma 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7 DL AF lens on your Canon EOS 400D and it seems to work; is that correct?? When I mount it on mine, an "err99" appears... I don't understand; I cleaned the brass contacts. Can you confirm this compatibility for me?

        Thank you in advance,
        Alicali

      Hi everyone
I have Sigma 28/80, 70/210, and 100/300 and they work great with Sony. I had a Minolta film camera and I just bought the Sony DSLR-A200 and I have to say that I'm really happy with the results. Good evening to you all and make the right choice. Bye bye

Hi, you need to check the side of the packaging box, the compatibility is written there. SIGMA makes lenses for several brands.

Hello, I have the delayed response to your questions:
the original silver sigma 100-300 mm mounts on a Canon digital camera.
The only problem I encountered with the 300D is indicated by "err 99" at maximum aperture and in bright light. A lens hood and a filter improved the situation to the point of being negligible.
However, with the 350D and 450D, the subsequent cameras, I no longer had this error.
I have since moved on to the 50D with Sigma lenses 10-20mm, 17-70mm, and 70-200mm APO DG EX.
The buyer of the Sigma didn't report any problems, but I don't know their camera.

Hello, I wanted to know about filters, where to find one for the Sigma 100-300mm? What is the price range? Can it fit other lenses or is it specific to each lens size and brand?
      Thank you, see you soon!!
      Have a nice day!
