Windows CE on GPS Solved

Question

Hello everyone,
I recently found out that many GPS devices run Windows CE.
Windows CE is an ultra-compact system that seems to be installed on GPS devices.

So I tried to find articles online on how to unlock my GPS.
I found this:

However, the article only provides information on how to configure the GPS for better performance, I want to know how to unlock a GPS to fully access Windows CE and, if possible, remove the GPS software to only have Windows CE.

How can I do this?

All I had to do was create an empty folder titled "YFGo2CE.bld" on the MMSD card and reboot to directly get WinCE! (Takara 55) Better than a magic formula!

Thank you for your response, but they are debating on the Via Michelin GPS but not saying how to delete programs from the GPS! :(

If the explanation is in the 36 pages, it will take me the whole day to find what I'm looking for...

That's great, I succeeded! I just had to delete the shortcuts on the Windows CE desktop and then erase the programs in the Program Files folder. I was overcomplicating things! :)

On https://www.maplorer.com/ there is a program (MyBoot) that allows you to install programs on Windows CE devices, and a browser for hiking maps (everything is free, with simple explanations).

There is a French version (click on the flag).

In fact, it's super simple to request that it be Windows CE that launches and not the navigation software: you just need to modify the autorun! (it's easy, right? ^^)

So step one: connect the GPS to the PC and launch activesync. Then access the files and look for an autorun.inf; once found, make a copy on your PC and delete the file from your GPS (the original). Now, create a new autorun.inf file in the old directory and set the path to

\Windows\explorer.exe

and there you go, unplug the GPS and reset the device with the button located at the back. If it doesn't work, you can always restore your old autorun.inf file that you copied on your PC.

P.S.: If you don't have the possibility to create a new autorun directly on the GPS, create one on your PC and copy it to the GPS ;)
