USB key and forgotten password

Hello,
I have a problem with my USB stick which has 2 zones, a public one and a private one protected by a password. My issue is that I've forgotten this password and I need that space (about 60% of the capacity of the stick).
If you could help me, it would be kind of you.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.14

I think it's over for the private part

Moreover, helping someone break a protection key could possibly be considered hacking...

I agree on this fact, but what else do I have to do, then? Should I just leave things like this and let this part take up all this space?
