Carte son inconnu (quel driver)

Bonjour,
Je viens de reformater l'ordinateur de mon ami et d'y réinstaller window Xp.
Le problème est que nous avons perdu le cd d'instalation du driver pour sa carte son, donc aucun son ne fonctionne.
De plus, nous ne savons pas quelle est la marche de cette carte.
J'aimerais savoir si il y aurait un driver (pilote) universel pour les carte, ou tout simplement une place pour savoir quel est le modèle de sa carte son.
