Hello,
I am surfing with Mozilla and I must have made a wrong manipulation that I can't seem to fix.
When you surf and want to download a file, "a window opens" asking if you want to open the file with program x, or save the file to the desktop for example. There is also a checkbox mentioning that you want to always open the file directly. That's where the problem is. I must have checked this box for "mpg" files and it downloads and opens automatically without me being able to choose whether I want to save them to the hard drive. However, for WMV files, there's no problem.
Thank you for your help and see you soon.

It's simple ;) For Google, click on the wrench icon located in the browser's toolbar.
Select Options (or Preferences on Mac).
Click on the Advanced Options tab.
In the "Downloads" section, click on Clear automatic download settings. This will clear your settings for all file types.
When you're done, click Close if you're using Windows or Linux.
I don't have Mozilla, but it should be almost identical :)
