Hello,
during the startup of the computer and the loading of programs, I get a message saying soffice.exe has encountered a problem and must close.
What does it mean - what can I do to restore normalcy at startup - is there an impact on the programs?
Thank you for your help.

Good evening gil-83
So soffice.exe is an executable that belongs to the OpenOffice (or StarOffice) suite.
This is therefore the quick launch function of the suite that is failing.
It's not a big deal and can have several causes, starting with a poor uninstallation of the software.
Are you using this software, and is it still working?
Then we'll see how to remove this error message ^^

To remove Open Office!
Go to program and file and see if you can find Open Office! Delete it.
If not, do this!
In Run, type Regedit and press OK.
Open the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Uninstall.
Locate the key corresponding to the program to be removed (Open Office) and delete it!
Be careful, it’s Open Office and nothing else, otherwise you will have to reinstall your system!
A+++

But in fact, I am not against Garde Offine One 6.5, of which I own the CD, but how can I reorganize things?

I realized what was told to me by typing in program files, but now I get the message application error - soffice.exe unrecoverable application exit
Can someone tell me what this means and can I use Office without the risk of losing anything?
Thank you

The process soffice.exe (soffice meaning StarOffice) is a process corresponding to the Sun StarOffice office suite or its free version OpenOffice.
This is an application process that can be stopped.
The tools of an office suite
An "office suite" refers to a set of software designed to meet office needs. An office suite typically includes the following software:
* a word processor
* a spreadsheet
* a presentation tool (sometimes called pre-AO)
* a database
* a calendar
The main office suites are:
* AppleWorks
* Corel WordPerfect
* IBM/Lotus SmartSuite
* Microsoft Office
* Sun StarOffice
* OpenOffice (free software)
So it needs to be removed, as it seems to have lost its executable.

I have Office One 6.5
I removed the program using regedit, then I reinstalled it, but there is an error, so I did the regedit manipulation again, and I can't find anything there, but when I type in program files, it is impossible for me to uninstall the program which apparently is still there
Thank you.

try to rename it! in program and file, and see the deletion!
there are leftovers somewhere!
download this little software, and in the menu
search for your program and delete everything related to it!
be careful not to delete Windows components!

Hello,
I see a lot of answers here that seem completely wrong to me,
The best and easiest solution is to click on "Start" and then "Run"
You type --> msconfig and hit enter
You go to the Startup tab and disable soffice by unchecking it.
You finish with ok, it will ask you to restart, and you won't see the message anymore.
Best regards

Furthermore, it is present in the Office One PDF Manager software, impossible to eradicate. Thank you.
Launch your software, you'll see, and if it uninstalls, once the uninstallation is complete, you cut!
if I understand correctly, this comes from the Office One software that was delivered to me with the computer. If that's the case, I just uninstalled it, but the same error message still appears.
So we're going to get rid of this troublemaker ^^
