Hello
if you want to say that when you open the internet it directly takes you to Ask, you need to go to tools (on your internet page) options, general, and there you have the homepage, try setting it back to default or otherwise enter Google

Here is the procedure to follow:
start, control panel, network and internet connection, internet options, and there for the homepage, you set this by deleting the old one: https://www.google.fr/?gws_rd=ssl
Additionally, to check if the Ask software is present, do the following:
start, control panel, add or remove programs and check if "ask" is there; if so, uninstall it.

On Firefox, by using the about:config function and searching with the ctrl-f command (ask), and changing all the lines containing an address ...ask.qqch, replacing them with www.google.ch, I managed to get rid of the problem. (Every time I searched for a page through the address bar, it redirected me to the search on ask.)
To uninstall Ask or another search bar, simply go to (options), then manage add-ons and disable it. Then install Reg Cleaner and search for Ask or whatever you want to completely remove and select (delete selection). That's it.
It's already the third time I've uninstalled Ask
and even when I manage to make it disappear from Firefox and Internet Explorer, I realize that the Ask process is still active and consuming memory. I haven't done a scan yet, but I have Avast and Zone Alarm to protect my PC, so if it's an ad program or something else, I don't know how it got in
apparently it comes with the Vuze installation, right?

When I opened the internet, I had 3 search engine tabs that opened at the same time: Google, Orange, and Ask.
Following the mentioned procedure, I managed to remove Ask from the extensions, but when I relaunched the internet, I still had one Ask search engine tab in addition to Google and Orange.
I checked the extensions, but Ask was no longer there!
So, I had the idea to click on the "home" icon and there I clicked on delete, my 3 engines appeared, I selected Ask to remove it and it seems to be working!!!

Hello, to uninstall Ask you need to go to the Control Panel, search for Ask and uninstall it. Then on the internet page, click on Tools and then Internet Options. Next, in General, delete the Ask address and replace it with https://www.google.fr/?gws_rd=ssl and then click OK, and normally it should be fine. It worked for me and I hope it works for you.
In the Firefox navigation bar, on the right side, dropdown menu for browser choice, click on the small arrow, then on manage search engines, select ask and click on remove.
Hello
After struggling a lot with different methods, downloading so-called anti-spyware software that didn't yield any results... I found the solution on Google Chrome
Go to the tab (customize and configure...) in the upper right, go to "settings" in the "on startup" tab check "open a specific page or set of pages" and enter the Google address. For more security, check the line "advanced settings" and "manage search engines," that nasty Ask (not necessarily under that name) is there! Delete everything and save Google (or another). Close the browser... there you go, it's done!

Hello,
I had the same problem, I tried all the solutions proposed on various forums and finally I found:
In my programs, it wasn't Askbar that needed to be removed but "Search Protect - Conduit" and Ask only disappeared after that!

Hello, I have a similar problem except that Ask remains the homepage even after I constantly change it; every time I restart Firefox, I end up on Ask Today as my homepage. I don't know what to do; I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but nothing works :(
