Unable to delete messages in MAIL on Mac

Hello,

I can no longer delete my messages directly from my MAIL inbox.
Until now, pressing the "delete" key would automatically move the email to the trash.
Today, this action only grays out the message but keeps it in the inbox.

I would like to point out that my trash includes a "on my mac" trash and a trash associated with my email address.

    I've found it!!!!

    Select the mailbox or message that is causing the problem,
    Then go to MAIL (in the menu bar) and click on rebuild
    And there you go, it’s gone...
