cleaning the ps2 lens Solved/Closed

Hello,
I have had the "mini" PS2 for 2 years now, the problem is that when I want to play some of my games they work but stop after several bugs.
After consulting several forums, I understood that I needed to clean the lens, but when I disassemble my "mini" PS2, the problem is that when I reach the chip I can't remove the gray cover on top because apparently I need to clean the large lens located beneath the small lens.
So my question is whether it is possible to remove the cover (of the mini PS2 because on the older larger model, the cover is easy to remove) and is it good to clean the lens with 70% alcohol?

Well, I have the solution; I've tested it and it works.

1. Take a PlayStation 2 CD that doesn't work

2. Put the CD into your PC

3. Delete all the files (Warning) except for the PlayStation document

4. Take vinegar with 8% acidity

5. Get a brush

6. Apply the vinegar on the CD

7. When you're done, do not let it dry because the vinegar will clean the lens, and you must not rinse it at all.

8. Put the CD into your console, and mission accomplished: you have a free cleaning CD...

9. Your console works wonderfully.

Prenez un coton-tige, mettez de l'alcool à 70 ou 90 % dessus, puis essuyez le plus gros de l'alcool qu'il y a sur le coton-tige sur un mouchoir en Sopalin, etc. Faites des petits mouvements circulaires sur la lentille laser et en même temps nettoyez autour de la lentille laser, c'est-à-dire le bloc optique. Refermez le compartiment à disque et laissez sécher 20 minutes, et c'est reparti.

hello, THE solution is to take a cotton swab and gently wipe the lens without applying too much pressure. Then check that your CDs are scratch-free; if not, wash them with LIQUID soap and dry the CD with a soft cloth (NO TOILET PAPER OR TISSUES BECAUSE THEY LEAVE TINY PAPER FLECKS) AND if you’re afraid of damaging your lens with the cotton swab (coward), make some steam on it (the lens) and then gently blow on it.

The guy says to put the CD in the console and it works wonderfully. When you say that the lens doesn't work, what do you mean? The lens doesn't pick up anything and can't spin the CD.
