I just acquired a Hercules ProphetView 920 Pro monitor that I installed without issue (Radeon 7500 graphics card). The colors are very beautiful, but every time I turn on the PC, the message "no RGB input signal" appears. However, the red, green, and blue colors are present and very clear. Is it that my graphics card doesn't support this function, or do I need to do something? Please help me. I have made the adjustments; everything works perfectly, but that darn message worries me. Thank you for your response.

Thank you, Peps, for your reply. I just looked, but I only have the monitor activated; the TV and the other monitors are disabled. I'm not really sure where to look now. I should specify that I'm rather clumsy in this kind of situation. If you tell me it's nothing, I already feel reassured. I'll try to look again, but I doubt it. Again, thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

Hello,
I have a suggestion to make: Given that your HERCULES PROPHET VIEW 920 PRO monitor is a TFT-DVI model, could you please make sure that you have connected it correctly as a DVI (see your graphics card manual), because if you have connected it in RTC (or declared it as such to the graphics card), it is normal that your screen driver is blocked and does not receive the display signal return impulses from your monitor (startup tests), so for the Catalyst driver it should be declared as an FPD and not as a classic RTC. -
Hello peps
My screen is just a 920 pro black and not DVI. (TFT LCD there you go). VGA cable and power adapter cable only. That's why this message doesn't seem very normal to me. I checked that I properly connected my two cables, not very difficult, but I don't have anything else. In the manual, under technical specifications, the input signal is mentioned as "signal level: RGB analog 0.7Vpp/75Ω". It's not clear to me at all, especially since the screen adjusts automatically and only brightness, contrast, and color temperature are adjustable. I have no display issues, games run very well, and DVDs too through the PC's player. On Hercules' website, there is no information about this. Thanks anyway for your help. -
Hello,
strange though, your monitor is listed as one of the recent products from Hercules (Guillemot), and its nomenclature specifies a TFT LCD with DVI standard (the black refers to the casing of the stand)
http://www.hercules.fr
Go to the displays page of your CTPANEL, disable the standard VGA monitor in 1 and select the FPD monitor in 4; And reboot your PC. If your driver is properly aligned, the requested Red Green Blue should disappear.-
I tried to access the FPD monitor. No way. Only VGA monitor 1 is active. I just realized in the device manager, system devices, that "the E/S data port for a Plug and Play ISA enumerator," although reported as having no resource conflicts, tells me that the resources used do not match the known configurations. An input/output range is in conflict with the secondary IDE controller and the VIA PCI Bus Master IDE Controller. I don't understand any of it at all, but the problem might come from there. I manually tried to find a range that wouldn't conflict, thinking it would activate the FPD monitor on 4, but nothing. It is still crossed out in red and I can't access it. I know I'm bothering you and you are really nice to help me, especially so quickly, but if you had any idea about this, it would really be welcome.

Hello,
so you have two problems that are presumably related. Could you please specify the model of your motherboard, please? And the type of OS that you are using? -
Hello
my solution that works 99 times out of 100 when there are two conflicting peripherals is to remove them in the device manager (both of them, you know) and reboot... usually, Windows manages to reallocate the resources...
best regards
Fred
Fools dare everything. That's how you recognize them (M. Audiard) -
Hello,
good TOWER67, no need to mention Michel AUDIARD, we recognized you.
The issue with KASTALLI won't be resolved by removing the catalyst drivers from her graphics card and the basic WINDOWS managers for her chipset controllers.
Let's assume she has a VIA chipset managing the AGP port and the PCI bridge for the IDE ports, the VIA driver provided with her WINDOWS is a 4in1 that was in effect from 486 to P2; so reinstalling them won't solve the problem, they need to be upgraded. The same goes for SIS, ALI, INTEL, etc... The average PCI 1.0 standard is insufficient if she has PCI 2.1.
However, one thing I forgot: could Miss KASTALLI check if the DVI connector on her graphics card is not on one side of her card rather than at the same level as her other connections (rear card connector)? This could potentially explain the inability to modify the display.-
Here comes Miss Kastalli again. Thank you for all the trouble you go through. The DVI port on my graphics card is on the same level as the other connections (S-Video-DVI-Monitor). I just retrieved today in my inbox the response from "Hercules" regarding my problem: "If the message: 'no RGB signal input' goes away after a few seconds, there is no problem; it's normal." I had filled out a complete form about everything on my PC.
Here are the details of my PC:
Pentium 3 Windows 98 SE
Direct X Version: 8.1
256MB
Motherboard: Abit KR7A
Chipset: VIA VT8366A APOLLO KT266A
I have not installed DirectX 9 on this PC.
I am still intrigued by this anomaly but more reassured, that's already something. However, I will try to look into it according to your advice, but I'm really not very bright.

Hello KASTALLI,
Who told you that you have a P3, the ABIT KR7-A VIA KT266A chipset is a P4 socket A (462 pins), typically paired with AMD ATHLON processors and DDR-SDRAM PC2100 (this motherboard hit the market in 2001). You should install the appropriate VIA chipset drivers for WIN9x (the HYPERION pack in principle), which will fix the USB 2.0 port management error under the PCI bridge. Check your installation CD of drivers provided with your motherboard, as WIN98 only supports USB 1.0 versions (and even that imperfectly). NOTE: the VT8366A is the north bridge of the chipset, and it normally manages all PCI AGP buses (including IDE controllers). If you experience system stability issues, look for the freeware UPACK12 (Ultra Pack 1.2 for WIN 98), which restores the missing or deleted *.vxd files sometimes after the installation of Windows 98. As for DirectX 9.0b, it is only required by very recent applications and some games (correcting certain buggy *.dlls from version 8.1, though...). -

Oops, sorry. Hello everyone. I also have this problem with my Hercules 920 and a Radeon 9800 Pro. When I start games, the screen turns off and shows no RGB input signal, and then I have to restart the PC. I've plugged everything in properly, but I can't select the option FDT in display. I hope you could help me because I don't see how to proceed. Thank you.

Hi everyone, well as for me, it's the same config as jack68, 9800 pro with the Hercules 920pro
it was running very well since April 2004
and now for the past 2 weeks I've been having issues (since a rather rough transport) I start my PC and it boots up nicely
but during the loading of Windows XP
BOOM the screen goes to sleep with the famous message "no RGB signal input" and then the disc also stops ...
I can no longer start my PC ..
if a charitable soul has any idea about the origin of the problem, it would really save my life!!
Thanks, bunnies!

Hello,
After a "delicate" transport ??? 3 major possibilities:
-Hard drive or drive.
-Graphics card or AGP port.
-Processor or motherboard component.
Only advice: Completely disassemble the PC, down to the motherboard's mounting (to check if any area on the back of it is in contact with the chassis).
Cleaning and reassembling each element one by one with checks (mounting and connection condition).
Normally it’s just a displaced connection, in the best case; Otherwise, in the worst case, your hard drive or a drive is damaged.
Small info: Next time, remove the hard drives, pack everything in bubble wrap plastic sleeves, then in a box (initiation to the art of folding to isolate the edges of the box). Remove and isolate each card, then wrap the case (power supply + motherboard). This way, you can play gymkhana without too much risk to the equipment. -
Hello,
The RADEON 7500 has a TV TUNER output (connection via coaxial TV antenna), in addition to the monitor output, so you need to disable the TV tuner to make the message disappear: "Red Green Blue, no signal" indicates that no TV screen is connected to the TV output port. Check if your CT PANEL (catalyst panel) allows you to disable it directly from the SYSTRAY icon.
