Probleme installation src-tgz

Bonjour à tous

J'ai un petit souci pour l'installation des drivers pour mon modem adsl asus , j'ai donc telecharger les drivers sous forme src.tgz mais je en sais pas quoi en fairte? etant debutant sous linux , j'aurais besoin de votre aide

voici le fichier readme donné avec les drivers. pourrez vous m'expliquez comment faire pas a pas car je suis nul en anglais. merci d'avance.

ps: j'ai mandrake 9.1

To test software:
.- Start Linux
.- Install needed packages (linux-atm if you have .rpm, atm-dev and atm-tools if you have .deb)
.- Unplug your modem, wait 10 seconds and plug modem
.- Go to amedyn directory and type make:
cd /usr/amedyn
make
.- Edit /etc/amedyn file
.- Configure your connection (if you use rp-pppoe then you type adsl-setup and you put nas0 as interface, if you use pppoa then you must configure /etc/ppp/options, /etc/ppp/chap-secrets and /etc/ppp/pap-secrets files)
.- Launch amstart.sh to start connection and amstop.sh to stop connection. Right order: amstart.sh -> amstop.sh -> solve problems -> amstart.sh -> amstop.sh
.- If all is ok then you can install a service to launch automatic starter with make add_service into /usr/amedyn directory. You can remove service typing make remove_service

Notes:
.- You can get linux-atm*.rpm package from http://sourceforge.net/projects/accessrunner
.- If you have this error:
/usr/sbin/br2684ctl: error while loading shared libraries: libatm.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Then you need edit /etc/ld.so.conf file and add /usr/local/lib then you must launch ldconfig program
.- If you have problems with rp-pppoe then remove /etc/ppp/options file and after launch adsl-setup program
.- If you have an ISDN line then you must change buf[0] = 0x15; by buf[0] = 0x11; in amload.c file
